Drakes of Devon
|
This genealogical chart represents a reconstruction of the family from limited surviving sources and should not be accepted as proved without accompanying evidence. It is based on both unpublished material as well as the sources listed.
Evidence indicates that the Drakes of eastern Devon, centered in the parish of Musbury, were kinsmen of the Drakes of western Devon, centered in Tavistock. Sir Francis Drake always claimed this kinship, though he was apparently unable to prove it in the 16th Century.
